Beaches are beautiful, or so I thought until I took a closer look. This project was photographed as part of my degree and aims to highlight to problem of marine litter. As well as showing the litter as it is found, the project includes studio shots that remove the litter from the distracting landscape of the seaside so that it can really be the focus. Despite being a sad sight, litter picking and beach-combing can actually be very enjoyable! Collecting these items often felt a lot like a treasure hunt.
